Preview: Greece v South Korea, Argentina v Nigeria, USA v England

Greece v South Korea
After winning the European Championships in 2004, Greece have been rather quiet. They've lost key players from that team, and failed to qualify for Germany 2006 and Euro 2008 in Austria-Switzerland. Not too much is known about the Greek side, other than their star, Theofanis Gekas. South Korea may be the fittest team in this competition and they will be working harder than all their opposition. The question for them is: Can they outwork and play the football? Obviously they have Park Ji-Sung for Manchester United who could be an interesting factor. My prediction: Greece 1.1 South Korea

Argentina v Nigeria
Argentina are obviously contenders with the world's best, Lionel Messi. But with Di Maria and Higuain, they may not have to rely as heavily on Messi. Also, their back line is going to be very difficult to break down with Demichelis and Heinze. Nigeria might give them problems, however, as we saw the speed of South Africa was too fast for Mexico, and it could be the same here. They have Mikel John Obi as well as Yakubu and Yobo, but that probably won't give the backline of Argentina too many problems. I think Messi will finally play with Argentina like he does with Barca, so my prediction: Argentina 4.1 Nigeria

USA v England
This is a big year for USA, for this is the first year that they have a legitimant chance to take the cup. With Oguchi Onyewu, Landon Donavan and Jozy Altidore playing great now, they could give England trouble. But maybe you don't say that anymore, when you look at England's backline. Johnson, Terry, Cole in the back, and with Rio Ferdinand out, it looks like Tottenham's Ledley King will fill that center back role. With Lampard, Gerrard, and Lennon in midfield, England should dominate possession. Rooney will be up top, likely with Heskey who will most likely be replaced later on with Defoe or Crouch. Rooney, who would be the best in the world if it weren't for Messi, may take the golden boot and some of those goals may come v the United States. Predictions: USA 0.3 England
