Chile v Honduras
Honduras actually have a decent squad if you look at it, with Palacios in midfield alongside Figueroa. But will this be enough against a good Chile side? Suazo, for Chile was tied with Luis Fabiano for the most goals scored in qualifing from South America. Chile are a bit of an unknown team in the tournament, and if you don't watch them, they could surprise you. No one really knows how good either of these teams are, but it will be a good test, and my prediction: Chile 1.0 Honduras
Spain v Switzerland
Spain, for me and for most of the world, are my #1 favorites to take the cup. Where are they weak? They have maybe the best keeper and center backs in the world, with great midfielders. They may be the strongest up top too, with Torres and Villa. Switzerland went out in 2006 without ever giving up a goal in regulation, losing in a penalty shootout to Ukraine. Switzerland are good, but I just don't see them ever getting ahold of the ball in midfield over Xavi, Fabregas, and Iniesta (if he plays). They will be dangerous offensively and solid defensively. Prediction: Spain 3.0 Switzerland
South Africa v Uruguay
South Africa may have surprised many in their opening match versus Mexico, and Uruguay were strong defensively and earned a point v France. Mphela, Pienaar, and Tshabalala all played very well, and the hosts should advance. They must shut down Diego Forlan, because he can give even a team as good a Barcelona problems. Uruguay need to stay strong defensively again. South Africa has much more pase though, and that could be the difference. My guess: South Africa 1.0 Uruguay
